Perfect day to ride

Posted 19th July 2009 at 23:04 by sportytrace
So Saturday was a gorgeous winter's day; the temps were a minimum of 5oC and a maximum of 20oC and by 9am it was 17oC with beautiful blues skies and not even a hint of a breeze. To me, that is a perfect riding day.

So Nyx and I headed through the Numinbah Valley down to Murwillumbah, then through the Burringbar Ranges to Brunwick Heads. Some calamari and chips in the park then back through the ranges and over Tomewin to Tweed Heads and home. It was a very enjoyable day. Took a few...

Back home and Reflecting on my US Trip

So I recently enjoyed an awesome road trip on the East Coast of the US. My lengthy ride report can be read here. I've been back home for a few days now; am still struggling a little with jetlag, and feeling the post-holiday blues.
So going through the photos I took, I tried to decide on four pics that were my favourites. This is what I came up with...

So Sunday was a gorgeous summer day in Queensland, if a tad hot. Some mates with a shared love of Harleys got together to share some Xmas spirit for a ride up into the Sunshine Coast hinterland. The route was Landsborough, Malaney, Montville, Nambour, Cooroy, Coolum and the Ettamogah Pub. Which essentially means it took in some coolness in the hinterland with the obligatory twisties, some dry heat on the flats around Cooroy where we took in a hot rod show, and some blue ocean and beaches through...

Weekend ride

Posted 11th November 2008 at 22:07 by sportytrace
Updated 12th November 2008 at 07:08 by sportytrace
I had an enjoyable weekend.... Nyx and I headed 650kms (~400 miles) north up the Queensland coast to visit my parents and to attend a family wedding.

The ride up started out wet with stop-start traffic till I cleared the cities, which wasn't a whole lot of fun, but once out of Brisbane it was smooth sailing. After about 350kms the sun came out and the temperature worked its way up over 30oC. The further north I got, the more relaxed I felt and I started to really enjoy just being...

Took a ride with my friend Lynn today. Two Oz chicks and their Sporties out having some fun together.

Took in some nice spots from the Beaches of Byron and Ballina to the ranges of Burringbar. Here's some pics...
