Hi everyone. I did a picture step by step when I installed my progressive springs. I have it in another thread here, but think it may visually help some people who are undergoing this task.

I started by wrapping electrical tape around the hex to protect the chrome.

It took a little force to break the cap loose, but wasn't too hard. Be careful when you get the cap almost all the way off. The springs are under slight tension and will pop up once the last thread is out.

Once I got the caps off, I pulled the drain plugs out. I let them drain for a while. Once they were done draining, I got a couple rags and pulled out the springs

Next I completely collapsed the fork tubes.

Here's the oil I am using. One bottle was more than enough to do the job. I have heard great things about it from these forums.

I took a skewer stick, and marked it with a marker. I went with a level of 5.75" down from the top as a start. I added about 1/2 the amount needed in each fork, then let it sit for a bit to get the air out. Then I went up to my skewer mark in each fork. After that I slowly worked the forks up and down to get any air out. Rechecked then added a little to get back to my mark, and both are even.

Extend the forks and insert the springs.

I needed to use the PVC spacers provided by Progressive. I had to install the washer between the springs and spacer.

The spacer provided was the correct height, so no cutting was needed. This sets the preload for the front end.

After that was done, I reinstalled the caps. That task it easier said than done though.
