It really comes down to weight. If weight is a big deal to you, like it is with Buell guys, I'd say go with an iron-lined aluminum 88" kit. If the extra few lbs don't matter to you, go with the all-iron 90" kit.
Both kits get the cases bored to 4.005".
The cases are weakened by this and really high hp 88's will break factory cases. Using a cast iron cylinder seems to solve the issue though. We've done some very powerful big bores with cast iron cylinders on stock cases without breaking them. Likewise we've broken a lot of stock cases on 130+hp motors with aluminum cylinders. I'd be real cautious about taking one above about 120-125hp with an aluminum cylinder on stock cases. It's a big risk.
The cast iron cylinder always gives the best ring seal. They're strong and stiff and don't distort.
Dan can do whatever CR you want. Piston selection depends on the heads. In general, a flat top can be easily setup from 10:1 to 11:1 at 90" depending on the chamber size.
