Sportster 72 seat on an 06?
Does anyone know if a "72" seat will fit on an 06? I really like that seat but cant find it anywhere and dont know if it will even fit. I just got my brand new mother road customs seat, bade and p-pad last week and already have to sell it. Any takers? haha anyway, the search for the perfect seat continues. Does anyone know the part number or know if it will fit?

Isn't this the seat:
Says it fits '06s:
Fits '04-'06 XL, '10-later XL models with 2.2 or 3.3 gallon fuel tank. Seat width 10".

Do you mean a 1972 or the new 72. If you mean the new "72" then yes.
The seat off my 1972 XLH won't work:

Yes it will fit with the 2.1 or 3.3 p-nut. I just put a h-d reach solo seat from an 06 or 07 on my "72"
And yes it is uncomfortable which is exactly why I took mine off. I think I need to take up smoking 'cause the "72" seat is so hard I need to stop every half hour and walk around. I am going to try refoaming it though and see how it turns out.

The stock seat on my '04 Custom was fine; I changed it because I wanted a solo seat, but it was OK for comfort.

I agree with milmat1! I did my first 200 mile last weekend on my 06 1200 custom with a stock seat & wanted to die! I was in a sh!t ton of pain & my a$$ was WICKED numb. I was riding with "friends" who had road kings and the last 40 miles of the ride my "friend" pulls out a gel seat & offers it to me. He said he only uses it for really long rides. I wanted to punch him in the throat. So, I took the pad. But by then my a$$ was so numb it didn't do any good. I'm hoping to get the Mustang wide touring seat sometime soon. Anyone have one on their 06 Custom?
