Question Xelement heavyweight chaps - anyone tried them?

Has anyone tried the Xelement "Classic Men's Heavy Weight Leather Chaps
(Item # : B9950-chaps)" chaps from Leatherup.com?

http://www.leatherup.com/product.asp...=B9950%2Dchaps

On sale at 49.95 seems almost too good to be true. Wondering if with them being heavyweight they'd be really stiff (aka oncomfortable).

I have some chaps from these guys (don't know if they're the exact same ones, but they are the same brand and cost about that. They're not too heavy, and are lined. The belt part is kind of lightweight, but I've been using them for almost 2 years and they've held up really well. Nice and warm on cold mornings.

Exactly what I needed to know, thanks. Happen to remember if you ordered them a size larger than what you normally wear as they mention on the web site?

I believe I ordered my usual size, and still have to use the last (tightest) hole on the belt. I know others have had trouble ordering from Leatherup, but I've not. I guess it just depends. As to their jackets, I've not tried them. I usually stay with Tourmaster (Cortech) or Shift. Excellent quality at about half the H-D price.

I have some Leatherup chaps. They are pretty nice for the money.

NOTE: Nothing I mean NOTHING will ever be as thick as a set of HD or custom made chaps.

These chaps arent thin but they are not "heavy" either.

One other thing...

Thier service !!!!in suxx. I ordered a xelement jacket and chaps from them and they sent me some other jacket that was paper thin. I was like WTF. The guy on the phone was like "whatta you want me to do about it"....Uh send me the right ones! Also my chaps came in 2 pieces! They didnt have the leather string in them so I could wear them. The dude on the phone didnt even register my complaint.

So just keep that in mind.

The Xelement branded gear is pretty good for the money (all imports) if they actually send it to you.

I will be wearing mine this weekend on the road.

Adios

I understand about the quality not being what I could get from HD. Got a HD Competition jacket for half price on clearance after wearing a cheaper jacket that cost the same money as the sale-priced jacket and there was no comparison. Took the cheaper one back and got a full refund (local low quality leather shop).

Sounds like a crap shoot on getting what I want in time to still ride before it gets too cold. Maybe I'll check a few other places before ordering. Just can't bring myself to pay HD prices this close to Christmas...

Thanks for the info.
