Windshield?

Does anybody have a windshield on a new sporty? How much of a difference does it make on longer rides on the highway? We went on a 300 mile trip yesterday and I was whipped out by the time we got home. My fiancé did better on his iron than I did on my super low but he's rode a lot longer than me. Thinking a windshield would help but thought I'd see if anybody has any suggestions.
