Default HD Contention mesh jacket

Any one else get an e-mail from HD with adds on jackets? Anyone look at the Men's Contention Mesh Jacket for $110? Anyone have experience with this? I want a mesh jacket for hot weather riding, but not so sure I want all the HD stuff on it. Just wondered if anyone has experience and if this is a decent jacket. I'll be heading out the stealership next couple days to look....

Don't know about the new one - but some of the older ones were rebranded Joe Rocket jackets. Jenn bought one (even though she already had a JR jacket) and is very happy with it...

never mind..... went to the stealership after work today and they are gone!! they had a "garage" sale last week and sold all 8 they had! It's a one time deal and no more to be had! Of course they had one for double the price in inventory! Oh well.... I just keep looking!

I got last years model last spring, and I really like it, you may wanna try the other stealers in the area we have quite a few. I went on ebay and bought the shoulder and elbow pads cost me another 40 for all four. also may wanna try leatherup they have several similar jackets reasonably priced around 70-80 and some others that are more, they don't have all the Harley logos either, I just got one of the ones that look like something off road warrior and really dig it

A dealer not far from me in St. Augustine was closing its retail store. 30% off. But all the jackets in my size were gone, all that was left was 3 and 4x.

If you're just looking for a decent mesh jacket try

www.motorcyclegear.com (formerly www.newenough.com ) they've been around a long time and always have some smoking deals going on. Check closeouts.

Thanks Kev.... I took a quick peek and found a few that look interesting. I guess I'll be buying on line if I can't find one local!
thank you!!

Strangely enough, a buddy works in a HD dealership 40 miles away... we were discussing Legion Rider stuff and I mentioned about the jacket and could he check to see if they had any down there. He called back and told me to contact a young lady in the motor clothes department and she thought she could order one. So i called and she ordered one for me. If things go well, should have in a week.
Now I wonder why my local dealer could not order this? Or even check to see? Or why they don't want my money??? That place sucks. If you don't own a bt, and spend a lot of money on shiney crap, they really don't want to talk to you. I keep saying if I owned that store, it would be busy! I'd kiss everyone's ass when they walk through the door. I'd give some form of discount to good customers. I'd run sales and events and have service specials. I'd have knowledgeable and friendly people there to wait on them. Their idea of a customer event is to provide a spot for the local HOG chapter to grill weenies and bowls of chips! I don't understand why one of the most simple and least costly forms of customer service is so difficult to provide?!

Well the local dealership could not order or get this jacket. BUT.... the dealership 40some miles away could, and did!! I got the jacket yesterday and it was exactly what I was after! All mesh, no solid panels. Pockets for armor, which I took from another jacket and inserted. Only disappointment, and a small one at that, is there is no removable liner for cool weather. But I wanted this for HOT weather anyhow, so that's fine.
The fit is good for me, it is very light weight and comfortable. Other than the HD logo's on it, I like the jacket. I am anxious to see how it performs in hot weather. I am pleased and don't feel like I was "taken" advantage of for $110!
