Sportster cutting out
Hello all nice to meet you, I just purchessed a 1992 Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 It ran well for about 100 miles yesterday,, then today when i was out riding it continued to cut off. I was able to restart and my lights stayed on so it wasn't an electrical issue. The bike will idle but when i bring it up to speed it cuts off. and seems to bog out. It has 16k miles on it and is in good shape, I believe it has been sitting a while but i don't believe it to be bad gas as it still idles.

Petcock fuel filter clogged?
Good fuel flow to carb?

Good stuff, but you really should look inside the tank, with a flashlight and see what is on the bottom. The petcock filter should be manually cleaned, periodically.

Yep, you gotta get your hands dirty. Personally, I would not use the seafoam. I wonder what that chit does to the liner in the tank?
Time to get a can of carb cleaner, some tools, (and do a little reading first), pull the carb and clean er out. Also clean the petcock. Maybe put a clear inline filter in the fuel line before the carb so you can see if it is starving for fuel. KD
