Back in the shop now that hay season is done.
Doing the test fit with all the new bits.
Thank You! to Hellcat and Rascalion for the hard parts!
Re-design of the intake manifold. Plenum got re-routed for a smoother path.
First try at a new seat pan
New fuel line meant everything else had to be in place, too.
Replaced the negative battery cable, too.
More pics as the new stuff goes on,
Sam

After the upper neck bearing thrash last year, the triple tree is headed for a bead blast.
The bottom (original) bearing was still good, but a new one is going in.
Got a couple new bags of zip-ties, time to get the wiring back in place.

Sam, is that corrosion from the salt on there? If so, you must have to do a complete tear down every year to get all of the salt off of the bike.

Salt gets in everything.
Dry years are better, but '09 was wet.
Like wait a couple days and we'll run then wet.
Splashing thru puddles of brine getting off the course made sure everything got a coat.
Sealed bearings are suspect, open bearings have no chance.
If you forget to lube the chain, it'll be orange in the morning.
And never, ever run without a front fender...

New seat complete!
Foam from an old Dyna seat.
Cover was a helmet bag.
A few more bits for the bead blaster...
No new parts for now.
A bit of flatwork tomorrow; more part money!
