is a headlight allowed in A (altered) classes?
I seem to remember someone, probably sam, saying that i was going to have to lose my headlight in the 'A' class as it can be considered an aerodynamic device.
can anyone confirm or deny this?
i need to finalize the race trim on the harleybusa

In AMA, it's OK.
In BNI, no, they changed the rule a few years ago and made us take them off. Ironically, they're still allowed in "M".

Yes, Speedweek, WOS, and Finals are run under SCTA/BNI rules. The Bub meet is run under AMA rules.
The BNI records tend to be stronger, simply because they'e been run by more people, at more events, for a longer period of time.
The two sets of rules have their roots in the same place, so there are a lot of similarities, but as the years go on and each tweaks them, they grow a little farther apart all the time.
The bad thing is that some changes they make really do affect the speed potential of the bikes, which either protects old records or makes them vulnerable. It takes away the purity of running against records set by other people from years ago, since the rules weren't necessarily the same.
