I ruin my carb
I'm new in Harley, I just post to present myself few minutes ago. So I just bought a SLX Roadster 1982, 1000cc. I want to say, my english is not so good
Beacuse I'm french.
The problem was the carb, a B83F: I open it and the accelerator pump was broke. So I change it and, put everything back together. But I push my luck to much.
I follow some instructions on a thread from an other forum: tuning a keihin carb butterfly...I drill the SMALL screw on the carb, but it seem I'd ruin my carb! The small screw hide a flow chamber for the gas...
No screw there to adjust
Now I'm looking to buy a Mikuni vm38-9 carb. But to install it on mine, I have two cables for acceleration insted of one. Is it a problem to fix it or is it better for me to put a hsr42 with the dual cable ? And if it's easy to put the vm38-9 is it also easy to put the flat tm38-86 and tune it ? Thank you very much for your help.

Hello, thanks for the information. I will try it now. Finally I found a used carburetor on Ebay. It is the same B83F on my motorcycle. Thus I retains its original character. I look forward to receive it by express post.
