I added another line where the plug is on the cam cover (opposite the gen) and ran a hose down under the engine. The oil mist blows out there instead of into the air cleaner. As Jason's Sporty said, could be an electrical problem, but unless it's been changed, you should have electronic ignition, not points. I doubt the oil blowby is causing your problem, unless someone has plumbed the hose into the carb mouth - but then you'd probably see some smoke if it was bad enough to cause bad running.

i am having the same problem. I just replaced the points and condeser as well as the plugs and wires. I was wondering if this could be a fuel flow problem? Thanks
