Default Exhaust for the 48

Hi, new member here. I'm getting the 48 soon and was wondering which aftermarket exhaust has a deep rumble and NOT loud as the short shots.

I am fond of the the classic staggered (stock) design and most of what I've found was slip-ons i.e python mamba, screaming eagle. Any pointers?

Welcome to the Forum.
I like the S&S slip ons. Nice sound and power.

I use to have Rinehart crossbacks on my 48. They are sweat pipes. Heres a picture of them when I 1st bought my bike back in 2010.

Had the Khrome Werks HP+ 3" slip ons on my Iron before going to the 2-1. Deeper note than the stock mufflers yet keeps the stock look if that's your thing. Here's the vid...

Slap.

Stay away from the short shots. They suck performance wise. I like the looks of the D&D Bobcats and they're a good performer from all reports I've seen. They also come in chrome.

I have the V&H Blackout 2-INTO-1 w/the quiet insert on my 48
it produces an incredibly deep and rich rumble sound

Welcome to the XLForum.

I also prefer the 2:1.

I have Bassani Firepower 3" slip ons. Here's a link to a recent Sportster 48 exhaust shootout along with a HP dyno chart.

Is the bobcat louder than the VH competition?

I don't know. You might try PM'ing Chrissenator, he recently installed a set on his bike. He might know.
