Default 2005 XB12 Fitting...What is it?

There is an 1/8" 90 deg. brass fitting on the right side of the throttle body that has a barbed end for a hose. The fitting is just below the velocity stack. What is this fitting for? And should it be capped? I have some photos it that will help. The bike is a 2005 XB12SCG Lightening.

The fitting is for CA emissions only. It is a vacuum and my read on it is that on the CA bikes it connects to a canister. I capped it on my daughter's Lightning.
