Default Turn signal no blink, no neutral ind, speedo quits, etc

Hello all! I 'm fairly new here. Wife and I got our first HD 2 years ago as a wedding gift. 95' XLH1200. I've got small ideas for tinkering and customizing. It's mostly a stock bike other than the drag pipes. Anyway to my question.

I noticed in a couple threads that the turn signal not blinking can be a ground issue. Well after reading that, I wondered if I have a bunch of issues that can be directed to the 1 cause. Here's what I have:

-left turn signal doesn't always blink. Just started month ago.

-speedo drops to zero intermittently. Only for 4-5 sec at a time. Started last summer. (figured it was speed sensor. I removed and cleaned. Still does it)

-Neutral indicator went out this spring. I figured blub was out. But it came on the other day when I started the bike. But that was it. Has not come back on since. I sure as heck wasn't going to spend the money for one of those light banks just for the N indicator.

- Last issue is sometimes when I go to start the bike, it turns once then almost seems like it can't turn over (lights dim like battery's dead) then it continues to crank again. Like a dead spot in starter. Or bad ground. Not sure.

I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

(I should know this stuff cause I'm an electrical tech at work. But when it comes to cars and bikes, I'm just not as good.)

Welcome from Canada's Capital!
Most of your issues seem to be ground related. But, you could also have an intermittent short in the wiring. I'd check the wiring harnesses. Target the steering, under tank and under seat areas primarily. These are areas prone to wear.

Ok, so don't laugh too hard. First I looked into my signal issue and turns out I had a burnt out rear signal. I feel like a idiot on that one!!

And then I took apart the indicator panel, thinking that it was sealed with LED's. Well they are just some mini incandescent bulbs I can pick up at the local auto shop. So now my neutral indicator works.

I still love this forum!! Ride Safe!!
