so did my 73 xlch and it does not have the factory call back rear gust repair on 72 73 with out could bend down making stop light wires burn up rubbing the tire

Well i own a 1971 ironhead sportster xlch 900, custom built old school chopper , with a 6''- over new dna style springer, which it's all on a paughco rigid frame, this is my very first custom build project,

Any Ironhead unless you don't like anything on it

I do like later 1985 oil bags and early Kidney bags they are the one to rebuild for me

have had a few 60's and my 71 xlch has been an exelent bike bought new in 71 only rebuilt 1 time but changes looks yearly

Default Looking at a '72

I just found out about a 1972, and from the pics it looks like a decent bike. It's all together, and ran 5 years ago before landing in a friend's basement (for another of his friends). There's a few extra parts, & maybe a manual. I hope to see it up close next weekend, if not sooner. So how's that right side shift?

I had a 74 and it was a great bike but if I could have any year it would be a 69 .
If I could find one in non running cheap condition I would buy one myself and restore it
