Turbos work real spiffy. Real quiet and 50% more power, if you hold them back.

Regarding engine mods, it all depends what you are driven by......
Bling, bragging rights, silky smooth power delivery, a little more peak power, violent power delivery,
traction or wheelie limited acceleration, a sound that just drips testosterone or peace of mind that
everything is as perfect as you know how to make it.

When the racers get done doing the impossible the engineers get a chance to correct the errors in the model.

I made a decibel test inside the helmet and the SE II were giving me 106db at 3000rpm inside the helmet, that made my head ake after 1 hour of riding.

I've just gronked my original exhaust and it's too quiet plus I lost some power. But it gives me 96db inside the helmet, that i can stand for long periods.

I miss the rumble but my head and ears as well my GF thank me.

Perhaps I'll resell the SE II and look for something not as loud as they these, the HD EPA have a nice tone.

in the meantime i guess the gronked ones will do.

I have SEII's on my XL1200R and I loved the sound (and the look) but like you I also got a headache after a short ride. After reading various posts and trawling the Internet I came across Smartpartz and the HardKore baffle. Pure genius, quiet on the cruise and through town, wail like a banshee on WOT, a little more back pressure than the stock SEII and although purely subjective better performance in the mid-range. For the money I would give them a try http://www.smartpartz.com/SPZSEII.html.

I ran a Supermeg with 20 disc and closed cap on my 09 and it was not loud at all. Above 4k it was louder than stock by not by much. It had GREAT performance, I wish I would have went with it again instead of the Road Rage I have on my 08. Road Rage made about 2 or 3 HP more but it is all on top and the torque curve on the Supermeg is way more drivable.

I agree on the super trapp...and they aren't loud...closed end cap reduces a lot of noise to...great muffler

If you or whoever told you a supertrapp is too loud, prob should buy a different brand of bike. That pipe is not super loud, it is a harley after all, that pipe is an awesome performance pipe too. I dont think anybody out there would disagree its not a great performance pipe. I just put another pipe on last night, its not a supertrapp, the only reason I didnt buy one is because they are really quiet compared to other exhausts. good luck
