Default Handlebar Dimple Length

Finally settled on some beach bars for my bike.
When I started mounting back up the switch housings I couldn't get the wires to settle into the dimples.
I found the reason.
Harley bars have the dimples ending at 8 1/2" from the end of the bar.
The Drag Specialties bars stop at 7 1/2" from the end.
Too short for the wires to tuck under the sleeve mounts.

Any ideas of how I can extend the dimples 1" for the wire tuck?

Put your controls on, mark a 3/8ths line out from the control body.

Pull control and drill (2) 1/4" holes along the line.

File the 2 holes into a slot shape and deburr, coat slot with plastic dip and you are good to go.

Great idea.
You got my mind away from the angle grinder.
I had also considered adding 1" to the end of the bars using 1" pipe

As long as you stay away from the wires and seal it up...i see no problem.

3/8" drill bit and a dremel tool to shape and smooth.
Painted, test fit and put together.

And a couple pics of the completed bike.
