If the finger section has a pin going through the center of the shaft to hold the two together why cant you knock the pins out of both shafts and swap the ends then put a bolt and nut in it to hold them together but peen the end of the bolt so the nut cannot come off

I remember reading another post awhile back where someone did just that unfortunatly the new one had no pin looks like it was a solid weld..Well when loading up it was real windy daughter said maybe we can go another night, i was sad to not take her but thrilled to get back to this ,yes i am an idiot who works on junk allways if it werent the bike it would be one of the piles of others work that they want done. But her is the kicker the dam shaft works now!!I just put it all back in took about 2 seconds considering the amount of time i have done this lol.
That was it the shaft was .140 to short i cut it built it up to a point both side while mic'in them for length and welded it solid a lil grinding and it works wholly shit bat man two days for this!! lol well i will go and take a picture of my backyard butchery. thanks all cant believe the dam shaft was not made right i will be back when i find the manufacture of this piece o crap.
I can shift the beast!! and my shifter shaft isnt gonna rub the primary anymore..That was alot of work because of junk parts no ifs ands or buts about that.

Yes Big andy had the right idea for sure, the new one does have a pin ( i just didnt see it ) in it and this would be the proper way to do it right by drilling the pin and switch the ends but my old end had a fair bit of wear on it aswell so i will run this for a bit,see how it works.

looks terible but shifts lol.Ah maybe i will drill the pins out and switch the fingers..

If you do swap ends over dont drill it just in case you run off center i just filed one end so you take the peened head off the pin you will see where it has been peened just file it untill the peening is gone and with a round punch tap out the pin as is is a press fit then they peen both ends to stop it coming out but i used a bolt and nut with locktite then peened the end of the bolt so it cannot come off
