Default attaching a 1/4 fairing question

I recently purchased a plastic Emgo 1/4 fairing. It looks like it should bolt right up to the head light ears with a little bracket. However, there is no rubber isolator or grommet and I am wondering if all the vibration of a sportster will eventually crack the fairing.

I am thinking that the grommets used on the rear fender of sportsters (pre-2004 variety) might do the trick, but I don't want to buy them and don't want to drill out the fairing if I don't really need to.

What have others done to attach the fairings

Thanks

PS: to give perspective.... I have rattled off a lot of misc parts since I'm not always easy on the throttle (1250 t-storm kit with NRHS ported heads): I dont seem to be able to keep those little chrome caps that cover up the exposed heads bolts on the primary side of the bike from coming off. they vibrate off. That's why I'm a little worried about the plastic Emgo.

It is always a good idea to isolate all hard plastic parts with rubber bushings. Your local hardware store should have a good selection of rubber gromets on hand.

rubber= better, however I ran mine for 2 1/2 years with no problems using supplied hardware.

Cool 1/4 Fairing and Vibration

Hi,
I just started to spot a small crack like looking crease in my Arlen Ness 1/4 Fairing near the top right mount. After some research I found a site that sells Honda 1/4 fairing bolts, washers and rubber bushings (kit), delivered to your door for 19.95. Can' t beat that... I have had the fairing in place since January of this year. I have put 2000 miles on it so far...Much improved 'upper end' acceleration noted, better fuel mileage too.

Con:
I couldn't believe that my 200.00 Arlen Ness 1/4 Fairing didn't have better vibration protection than just bolting directly to the mount bracket steel...
Ride Well...

The EMGO I had on my KZ 1000 is cracked and that bike was smooth running. Plus the fairing was 3point mounted. I am going to try to fix it with ABS plumbing glue and fiberglass mat. If it works I'll use it on a future project. If the EMGO is ABS it might be worth reinfocing it first. I use the black ABS glue from Oatley but it is not available everywhere. Got mine at Lowes in Lancaster, PA while on vacation to fix the waste tank in my camper.
