Default 1999 Buell Xi Fi engine misses

My stock Buell X1 has an engine miss when ridden at a steady speed more noticable in higher gears during city riding. in second gear at 4000rpm at a steady speed the engine seems to surge and pop or backfire the bike has 2700km and has had all sevice done.
