Wouldn't an 883 with it's relatively low compression do well with nitrous?

im not sure if this is proper, but go over to chevelles in depth 883 iron dyno experiments. 60 is not common there yet. over 55 is.
Im just over 60/60 now, im sure there is more to come, I have a couple more things Im brainstorming.

Whats the redline on the EVO 883?

I guess EVOlution is not always a change for the better?

The most cost effective ways to get power out of your 883 are described here:

http://www.hammerperf.com/883conversions.shtml

Background Information

The Basic Conversion - 50% more power!

Taking it to 80+ Horsepower

Taking it to 90+ Horsepower

Taking it to 100+ Horsepower

Taking it to 110+ Horsepower

Final Thoughts

Also, I would strongly suggest that when doing a conversion, you not compromise the cooling design of your motor. There's a massive difference in fin area between the 86-03 cylinders and the 04-up cylinders. The new ones cool much better as a result. There's no need to go backwards on this. It also makes a nice upgrade in cooling performance when converting an 86-03 to use these big fin 04-up cylinders.

Thanks!
Not that I would ordinarily revive such an old thread but alas this forum is so slow that it's still on the first page haha.

I have finally completed the stage 1 on my bike (NRHS Hurricane Flow II intake, 2" drag slip-ons with Khrome Werks HP+ baffles / Thunder Torque inserts, and a Power Vision for tuning.) After having logged over 8 hours of AutoTuning on the Power Vision (and lots of careful adjustments to the AFR and spark tables) I can honestly say that this thing pulls like a stock 1200 now all the way to 6500rpm. My guess is that between some weight savings and good tuning this thing is very close to my goal of 60hp. Of course I have no way of proving this other than a butt dyno but I might just put down some cash to get it charted.

Needless to say the effort and money was well worth it (spent about $860 on everything I mentioned above.) It definitely has me gladly postponing a 1250 conversion and it already feels like a new bike.

Tip: the Power Vision honestly makes all the difference when it comes to accomplishing a stage 1.

You are probably making more power with your 883 than most 2003 and older stage 1 1200s make. Glad to hear you are happy with what you have done to it so far. if the hp bug catches you though just give me a call and we can hook you up with one of our 1250 kits and really bring out the beast.

Very cool and sounds impressive. Let us know if you ever get her on the dyno!
