I've talked to him enough now I understand most of what's said. Was going to take him for a little shopping trip but the docs won't let him out yet. Said maybe tomorrow or Friday. He is doing well.

That's terrific....His friends across the pond are grateful for the updates on his status, and especially for your concern and efforts to help their friend.

Default The end (for now) of the story

This just in from Dave:

Quote:
Hi Everybody from a grey and wet Bolton.

I finally got home on Sunday afternoon after a 27 hour journey.
Can I first start by thanking BaZa for all work he did in tracking me down to the Mercy Hospital in Springfield, from the little information I put on the website. Also Hippy and Foxster for putting my plight on the US Shovelhead and XL Forums and the overwhelming response it started.
Plus a big thank you to all my fellow club members who added their best wishes for a speedy recoveryto my thread.

Special thanks go to Jim (Jiggers) Graham, who visited me several times during the 3 weeks I was hospitalised and for helping me to send my belongings back home via UPS.
And also to Michael D Johnson Sr of the Tribe of Judah MM Marshfield Chapter, for also visiting several times and on his final visit gave me a Route 66 guide book.

To Phil Bourne for phoning me twice and offering me a place to recouperate in Florida, unfortunately I couldn't take up his gracious offer.
To Sarah who worked at the hospital who also visited me, Andy Whittle, Kevin from Long Island who sent me a get well soon note, and to all those who called to offer their help to me, whilst I was recouperating.

To Tommy Pike, the President of the Route 66 Association of Missouri for coming to visit me after seeing the article about my accident in the local newspaper.
Finally my thanks also goes to all the nurses, their aides and Doctors at Mercy Hospital in Springfield who looked after from the 12th to my discharge on the 30th.

As I have stated previously in my USA Trip thread it has been a humbling experience, to have so many people who didn't know me offering their help in anyway they could in order to make my hospital stay as comfortable as possible, it was gratefully recieved.
Lastly can I also say thank you on behalf of my family, as they too appreciated all the help the club members gave me and those in America who helped me.
