I have a military buddy who has a 2000 X1 lightning. He has had the engine replaced, (by dealership) that has been upgraded. Performance cam, valve springs, pistons, and he said it thumped like hell. Well not too long after the warranty ran out he had some issues with his EFI. The dealership told him it had to be remapped and put on a dyno and wanted to charge him 800-1000 bucks to do so. Well being hes in the military he doesnt have time or money to do so right now, He is going to sell it to me for $1500, any info on if i should take up the offer and get it fixed myself? Its a nice looking bike and if I buy it and get it fixed all for under 3000 it still seems like a "win win" Thanks for any advice out there.
