I didn't get my shit straight until I was 33. That was three years ago. Quit now of you can. I think about all the money I burned (literally) and I wish I had it all now. I could have a much better job and be riding a paid in cash CVO.

All it takes is a little personal self control. A little beer ain't going to hurt you. Know when to say "enough"

I quit in 1974 by deciding to try that first.

I concur in all of the other posts. You will not miss drinking and the life you will find will be beyond compare to anything else you have known! Ride, live and enjoy life without alcohol!

been awhile since i have been on this site so i thought i would update yall on my drinking. i still drink. i work full time and go to school full time, just bought a house for myself and love life. i dont slam a half 5th of whiskey every night anymore and hopfuly will be done with it all soon. like most things the more you do it the less fun it becomes and i would like to have the 60 bucks i spend on beer every month go to cb750 chopper project instead of the pisser. plus the beer gut is not sexy.

You seem to have a better handle on your drinking since your first post in 09. That is a good thing. Most people can drink and not have issues. Many of us can't. You need to find the balance.

New to the site and thought I would say hello. I've been clean and sober for 24 years a day at a time.

Just checked back in on the thread; had read it about a year ago and wondered how things were goin' for you.

Like a friend told me once, "you know how much you think about mayonnaise? That's how much normal people think about drinking."

It took me about two years of daily struggle before I got clear of the booze. So, I can relate to it being a 'ten round bout'. But that would make for a 'wall of text' that can make a forum thread boring - you can PM if you're interested.

Long story short - you might want to actually consider quitting altogether if it's still causing some problems three and a half years after your original post.

Like all my (un-asked for) advice: JMO, YMMV, and 'void where prohibited by common sense'; ask your doctor if advice from random internet strangers is right for you...

-Bill
