Default spark plugs- 1125R

a question-

my son in law stopped in on a cross country trip from Wy, and we wanted to change out the plugs in a 2008 1125R

I have zero Buell experience, him even less

We changed out the rear ok, but am stumped on the front

we took off air box, and the clips on the carb throats ( the big C rings) but the plastic shield, with the 4 tors removed, still will not come out.

What am I missing so that we can remove it, to have access to the front plug?
