Default Pre-'78 drum brake rear wheel on '92.

I know it doesn't fit, different swing arm, disk brakes, and all that stuff, but for the sake of discussion--- if I installed a pre-'79 drum brake XL rear wheel on my '92 model, with the rim centerline properly aligned to the centerline of the frame, would the sprockets be in alignment? Just considering sprocket alignment here, not discussion on the other differences/problems.

No, I do not think the sprockets would align. I'm thinking that the wheel in my '75 is off set by 1/4" to get the sprockets aligned, and that is stock. The rear sprocket is affixed to the drum can not be spaced out easily.. I'm sure it is possible to do, but not easy and will take some fab work and engineering...
