Protection Jacket or Similar

Although I have my dedicated motorcycle jacket and other assorted gear, I was thinking of buy one of these protection jackets (such as Alpinestars Bionic 2 or IIcon Stryker Rig) to wear under my normal jackets.

Apart from rain protection, which most normal clothing does not have, has anybody tried this?

I´m worried this is a dumb idea and I am stuck with something I won´t have an use for, and spend even more money getting another good pair of dedicated jackets.

I looked into that, and decided instead to buy one of the Icon Hooligan Jackets. I really like that Jacket, and can wear it in the heat of summer, so long as I am moving. I had not planned to be able to use it as much in the warmer weather and was surprised at how cool it was above 10mph. It has a liner as well, and cool weather testing will bee here shortly for me.

I have used 2 jackets a street and steel and a scorporion exo once it got past 100 in NM i ditched the jacket for a tshirt sometimes my leather vest just for storage
