Sorry, haven't checked this thread for a bit.

Changing fork springs is easy, only hard part is breaking the damper rod loose. Once that frustrating bit is over its smooth sailing. You'll need to pull the springs to install the Intiminators anyways. I use the Works performance dual rate springs.

road king airshocks , i have been told, will put u oiver the handlebars someday. compare the weight of the bikes .

do urself a huge favor and dont get anything shorter than 11". progressive will change the spring rate out for you no cost if youu send them back the shocks. you pay shipping. but still, i thought they sucked and i am about your weight or a bit less when i ran them
the only shock i know of that suposedly gives a good ride at short lengths is the "budget" ohlins.

@AustinXL, how much were the works front springs please?

@HacksawsGarage, probably not an option for me, as I will have to eat about 75 bucks postage each way and the Thai Customs (bless their cotton socks) will have me again when they are returned. I got hammered recently on some La Rosa solo bags that were made here!

So, if I spring (sorry about the pun) for the Ohlins, is it a setup that can stay with me, weightwise, or would that be another spring at some point too? Also, to me the Novice, is there anything I am really going to notice to choose between the "budget" and Full Bore versions?

Thanks again for sticking with me here!

As an aside, if these Ohlins are Swedish, why are they only sold in the USA??

well i dont know about ohlins only being sold in the usa. i would guess that international mail order (perhaps outside of euro zones) may only come from the usa. ??????

ohlins, like any other major shock maker, assembles your shock to your specs. they can also revalve, rebuild or re-anything. of course you have that shiping and customs issues. preload is adjustable by shims i think, you really need to read all the info on all the web sites. its kind of a chore and i didnt go thru it all myself. but when its time to for me to buy shocks i will.
