Default real wheel alignment

I need some expert tech advice....
has anyone measured their real wheel axel to determine alignment?
today after adjusting my chain tension I was unable to get the rear wheel into perfect alignment...the drive side is 1/4 in further back....the tension nuts will not allow perfect alignment unless the chain is too slack......the distance is not quite a link so shortining the chain is not an option

????? the bike tracks well and stops fine...so far (without highway testing)

any ideas..I'm aware of the uneven tire wear issues and possible high speed handling instability...so whats the remedy? shocks are mounted fine WTF

Don't measure from the tension nut area. measure from the swing arm axle to the wheel axle. hope this is the info you are after

Is your '06 a chain conversion? If so, were the sprockets changed?

I'm not sure about on a sporty chain, but on my old 250 Kaw desert racer, I used a half link, not a full link, to shorten the chain a half a tad.

I USed the Method called for in the manual, Using a piece of welding wire with a rubber grommet for a marker, Basically it will compare the distance from the Swingarm Axle bolt to the Wheel Axle bolt.
This should work provided the frame is straight !!

You can put in a Half link like was mentioned. But something else seems to be amiss here... Why your having so much trouble getting it aligned I don't know ??
