does anyone know where i can find some videos of military harleys? im looking for old military archive type stuff more than anything else. i watched a video on youtube and it got my interest up.

I remember seeing an alleged 1963 XLA in a local ratbike shop back in the early eighties (or so it was claimed). An oilfield worker had had a few old HDs imported from Java, was the story. I did see the bike in a little better than basket case condition, along with some other old HDs, one with a sidecar.

You might do a search on XLAs, if you are really interested in the military breed sportster. I was told at the time that the only XLAs were sold as exports.

For non Sportsters, there were of course the WWII 45 c.i. military Harleys, as well as Indians.

Fort McCoy, WI had about 100 (if i recall) that are still in the boxes they were shipped in back then. They were never on the books for some reason so they buried them, still in the crates, somewhere on post.

sounds like what's called 'war stories'
i also heard that in ft knox, ky there is a warehouse full of crated 45's from wwll. believe what you want and find proof if you can.
