Spring seat questions
Can the HD solo spring seat mount be used with other seats, or only the HD spring seat?
If it does not allow me to use other seats besides HD, can anyone tell me who makes the best bolt on spring seat mounting kit?
Thank You.

At $230, I wouldn't buy a Harley install kit unless I was sure!!!
Stupid me bought the Harley spring seat for my new Forty Eight, but the dealer gave me $1000 in-store credit, which took some of the sting out of it.

Darwin-
Thats why I am asking, so I can be sure before I pull the trigger. Feel like measuring yours??? How do you like the HD seat?
Most bolt on kits I have seen run from $150-$200, so the $230 isn't bad considering its HD.

I don't have my bike yet - I will by the end of the week. I'll be happy to post the measurements as soon as I get it.
They had to order the seat, install kit, black exhaust heat shields and black mufflers.

Well, you did ask for the best.
But, getting back to reality. Here is the one I would go with: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Coppe...item562f5e23dd
It's $239.00 but, looks and appears to be top quality. I have heard good things about this system but, haven't tried it myself.

Thanks Darwin. Congrats, you have got to be excited!
Jharback-
Yes I did ask for the best....
I guess I am looking for the best BOLT ON traditional coil sprung type spring seat mount. Nothing fancy, no fox floats, remote resi shocks, nothing like that. Less is more, I am going for classic looks. Having to weld, is a deal breaker for me.

well...
the cost of the kit, and the seat too, appears to me a real robbery.
I custom made the kit in less than one hour, total esxpense about 10 dollars plus 20 bucks for the springs....
