Miles on Modern Evo Before Engine Rebuild?
The local HD service department could not give me an answer on this. How many miles on a modern EVO engine until it needs a rebuild? my 07 has 56,000 on it and I am wondering how many more miles until I am looking at at expensive rebuild. I take my bike to the dealer every 5,000 miles for routine service if that makes any difference.

It has been said that the Evolution engines are 100,000 mile engines. Mine is still running strong with no leaks with 47,000 miles on it.
I plan on waiting for my engine to start making funny noises or pissing oil to look and see what the internals look like. If they look nasty, then a rebuild is justified. if they look fine, then I'm just going to replace the leaky gasket, or replace the part that is making the noise.

If I remember correctly, there was someone on here that had 140,000 miles on a 2006 1200.

59,000 on my lower end and probably about 29,000 on my top end and still running strong. I have been also told they will easily go over 100,000 miles. I thought it said something in the manual about this also. I will have to go check it.

Do a search on Cindy Dietz - I believe she got 120K miles from her 883 before rebuild was required (which HD paid for!)

Look up this member http://xlforum.net/vbportal/forums/member.php?u=17502 she has like 3,000,000,000,000,000 miles under her belt. All kidding aside she's put a ton of miles on her bike touring everywhere.
