Except a trike isn't a bike. It doesn't lean, so car tires work. Same deal with a hack. That's also why you usually have to tinker with the front-end geometry when you do a trike or hack conversion - bikes are made to steer by leaning and trikes/hacks steer by steering.

I do agree that bike tires on a trike make it look less trike-y.
