1985 XLX Ironhead Sportster
Hey everyone, kind of posted this in general discussion already, and botched it up, but i was directed to the ironhead specific forum to ask you all.
Ride a 09 sporty now, and saw this ad on craigslist
http://keys.craigslist.org/mcy/2421752700.html
Not worried about it being a false ad or anything went and saw the bike today though and it looks worse than the pic, chrome plating flaking off, fork tubes need replaced, battery is put in backwards so the cover plate won't stay on, and paint job is so, so. Didn't get a chance to start it up, dumb on my part. But it is sitting outside a harley mechanic shop and the mech there did tell me it runs pretty good, hes the one who pointed out the fork tube to. So just trying to get your advice on if its a good deal or not.
Thanks for your time

The $5600 starting price was way beyond stupid. The amount on $s spent on a bike has no bearing on its value at sale time. The guy is just saying that to make his current asking price seem more OK.
I would not accept the "runs pretty good" comment at all.

I'd have to hear it run and ride it around the block.
