sportyrider is an unknown quantity at this point
Default question - any years to avoid ???

Are there any rubbermount year bikes that should be avoided? I'm looking at a 1200 R model with a carb.

06's are the best

But I dunno, I just say that because I have one... Figure 04 was new, 05 working crud out, 06 dialed in

Rubbermount carbs are only 2004-2006

Get an 05. 1 inch axles, and the last of the straight cut gears.

Nuthing wrong with the 06 gears. But 06 can only be upgraded by the Twin Tech ignition module as the VSS is specific to it.

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.

05's kick serious butt.
IMHO, The 05 Roadsters are the
creme of the Sportster crop.

Yup...
1" rear axle, straight cut gears,
two gauges, dual disc brakes, 1200cc.
Non-blacked out engine.
Only thing missing were fork gaitors.
Hey... what more do you want?

Hi Rico 05R,
Nice choice of scoot,
and very nicely modded.

Where did you get the gaitors.
They look way better than Nightster gaitors
which have too few folds.

Max

Thanks Max. I got the gators from Motorcycle Superstore. They're by Daystar if I remember correctly.
