Default oil tank lines

I'm a little burned out now and a QUICK search did not turn up the answer I wasnt/understood. So here is a noob question.

I have mooneyes oil tank with 3 fitings(2 top, 1 bottom) and i'm hooking it up on my 01. The bottom line is the feed line, return line goes to one of the top fittings.

So do I run the cam chest vent hose directly to the 3rd fitting on the tank?

Am I missing something in this venting?

Yes. It's more of an equalizing line, than vent, but yes, run it to the cam chest fitting...

just wanted to add-- place the return line in the fitting furthest away from the feed line so the hot oil is not introduced back to the motor as quickly

Thanks guys, feeling more myself today. One more question

With the cam chest running back to the oil tank does the oil tank still need to be vented to outside air?

NO, that vent line/equalizing line vents the cam chest into the oil tank, no outside venting required from the oil tank. Make sense?
