Default It Seemed Like A Good Idea at the Time...

Well, many of you have read the thread I posted this morning:

Gotta Go!

Here is a picture of my lovely wife at our local Harley dealership. A little muddy, but having a blast. The salesmen there said we were crazy! Go figure. We bought the bike to ride, dammit!

Then we stopped at the local Indy shop to visit, and then it was off for home to fix the kids some lunch, and wash the bike before parking it in the basement again. Only...

There was this trash dumpster that decided to blow across the road directly into our path...

...and made the bike do something like this:

Having a digital camera in my pocket, I thought I would snap some shots as I lied there beside the road. A crowd gathers...

Here's a lovely portrait of me, as my wife holds my head. Ya see, she apparently forgot that SHE was supposed to lie still too...

Here is another shot from the deadman's point of view. Apparently people don't see this everyday...

"Oh look, a dead guy"

My wife and me. It appears that she got it worse than me, but we're both about the same. They just finished with me first, then I went in to visit with her. I did, however, manage to have a seizure, so they put me back into a bed, then I went in for a CAT scan. The wife did also...

So all in all we spent about 5 hours in the emergency room, and ended up with only bruises and road rash. Here's one more of my lovely wife:

So how was everyone else's New Years Eve?

I guess dropping my bike yesterday did not suck that bad. I will take an innocent bike fall over during photo taking than to take a spill on a bike with or without wife. Hope you heel fast and get that pretty bike back on the road.

Dang, Alleydude! Glad you and the wife weren't too injured...not to say a seizure is like a band aid scratch...once things settle down, please let us know of your thoughts on "lessons learned", like do you think the full face helmets helped or hindered, did the chaps protect your legs...etc...I always remember a saying an older, veteran motorcyclist told me years ago..."It's not IF you're gonna fall, it's WHEN!" For some reason that's always stuck in my head and it seems to make me a bit more cautious...of course, the MSF course helped, too! Anyway, get everyone patched up and wait for another nice day to ride again!

soulda took the ironhead , they don't worry about plastic

hope your both ok , hows the bike ? hows the trash can ?

now who in their right mind would think "ok I dumped the bike , lets take pictures while I lay here bleeding to death"
you sound like the type I'd ride with

speedy recovery to both of you and the bike

oh ya , when my freind hit his deer, he took it home. did you gut the trash can and take it home too?
