Vibration
I have an 03 1200 custom that I am getting a vibration at a cretin RPM. The vibration is so bad that it vibrates my gas cap and makes a annoying rattling sound. It only does it around cretin rpm range (around 30- 40 mph in 2nd gear) and then it comes out of it. any ideas. It sounds like is coming from my primary. It just started about 3 weeks ago and I had my primary chain adjusted with no help. Any Ideas?

You only get a those speeds, strange should be getting it at every speed. that was frame mounted motors do, vibrate. I doubt you have a problem, just a frame mount.

I have had the bike for 2 years and it has never done this before. I know the bike vibrates some but not like this. It only has 17K miles on it and I am not a real hard rider.

I will do that in the morning. It also will vibrate and rattle then you rev it and hold that RPM with out it moving....(sitting there in the kickstand).

Sounds like you lost, or have a loose, a bolt in one of the engine mounts.

Agreed. Check ALL your mounting bolts.

What RPM? Check all fasteners first. Harleys have been know to vibrate.
