Yeah, "romantic" and "cool" unless you even looked at them sideways no matter what you rode. Or didn't look like them. For some of us older riders who tried to attend races, hillclimbs or other events - or even just tried to ride somewhere unmolested - "The Hells Angels are here" was never something you wanted to hear.

Saw a guy get beaten with baseball bats once because he accidentally stumbled into one of the "Angels" circled for "safety" at a concert.

Just sayin'.

Ah yes, the HA's ride to the notorious Blackboard in Bakersfield. Buck Owens and Merle Haggard and many others started there. One of those places you had to fight your way in and fight your way out of. Many a hillclimb were had at Motorcycle Hill. Unfortunately you can't even ride there any more. But, it's still there.

I lost this set when my comp. crashed so thanks for digging this up.
