Went down on the sporty
I wasn't gonna mention it since it was a little embarassing, but hey we're all family right?
Saturday morning my 2 boys had soccer games @ 9 & 11 so between games I decide to get a haircut. Ok, did that, done... I go to get back on the scooter on a very busy, very narrow main street. Fire 'er up & get an opening & gas it. I went down & thrown about 10ft from the bike. It was then when I realized I forgot to unlock the forks . I've been riding 20+ years & that's the first time that happened. The forward pegs saved the bike from a lot of damage even though it snapped one of the mounting bolts.
All in all I had the bike back up in the matter of seconds, due to the fact I was embarrassed as hell. Road to the soccer game & off into the sunset....but today I'm feeling it. Other than the road rash I have on my knee, my hip & shoulder are killing me......Lesson learned!

Glad to hear your alright...These stupid moves happen to all of us sometimes...The good thing is...You'll probably never make the same mistake again...Believe me, I've done all the dumb things..once..Then you remember your mistake and hopefully never do it again.
Like getting off the bike with jiffystand up
Like dropping it in the driveway turning it around
Like burning your leg from wearing shorts
Like forgetting to turn on petcock
Like unlocking the fork
etc. etc. etc
NOT THAT i'VE EVER DONE ANY OF THESE THINGS .. LOL

I didn't know the crime rate was so high in Mass. that you have to lock the forks to get a haircut. What with Teddy Kennedy on watch and all.

We should hve a new forum contest to see who is willing to admit to doing the most of these things. It would be one that i might have a chance of winning!
