Default New HD Swingarm Bag Pics On Bike/Review

Well after months on deliberating on which bags to use on my bike I opted for the New HD Swingarm Bag which has just been released and I am very glad I made the purchase. I collected it yesterday from the dealer and fitted it the same afternoon.
Here is a brief description to help others make up thier minds.
The mounting Frame unit attatches to the bikes frame at 4 points so once fitted is very secure.
The hardest thing to fit is a round bracket on the upper part of the frame. If not careful could damage your frame when fitting as the two metal tabs are sharp. I placed some cling film on the frame first and then found I could only fit it by bending it and jiggiling it up into position to tighten with clamps.

Simple tools needed. A mixture of Torx and allen keys with a couple of spanners.

Here's the Bag Fitted

The bags shape and size is very practical for a side bag.
HD have used the most out of the space available and the bags sits well once mounted.
Quick release hidden clips make it easy to open/shut.
I can get a long sleeved hoody/fleece, small camera plus lightwieght waterproof trousers in mine which is all I need for a day trip.
The leather is good quality thick leather, I'm guessing 7/8 oz (approx 3/4mm thick) from experience.
Well made with a plastic back mounted to frame.
I think the price is comparable to the better made aftermarket bags.
This has a sturdy mounting kit whereas some aftermarket bags are only held on by zip ties or straps.
For me I like the looks and think it compliments my bike. I'm very pleased with the purchase. Hope this helps others.

It looks like it is a little bigger than the bag I have now. Thanks for the info.

HD only do the Left Side with this bag otherwise it would interfere with the exhaust system. I know some of the aftermarket do side bags for left and right although they are smaller. My feeling would be proper saddlebags if I was looking at left and right bags which would loose the overall purpose of a single side bag.
There is approximately 1" inch clearance between the Swingarm and the bag.

You get an idea of the space with this pic if you look at the wheel axle nut and lower part of the shock you can just about see the space. I think it's a really tidy fit which dosen't protrude too much.
Thanks for the bike compliments.

Good oogly moogly!! That's killer! By far the best option I've seen so far for a single sided swingarm bag.

I just picked up mine, very happy with it, now for a semi decent day to put it on. Hate not having a garage and having to put the bike at my parents house, grrr

I've ordered the same bag, should be in next week. Good to know I've made the right choice.
