Default Need some 77 ironhead rear brake help

I`v bin reading threads about the 2 elements on the brake light being lit. i have the same problem. looked over everything and found this. ok, it wont let me post the pic cuz i`m new.

the wires were taped together to make it look like the brakes were on but once i untaped the connection the lights shut off. so yeah, i need a switch, but i then had no tail light. could someone point me in the right direction? and could someone post a link to a new rear brake switch? everything else works. i`m just having problems with the light.

Same switch as in the front brake lever. Do not replace with a $5 POS. Spend the $25 and get the Harley Davidson one. Or order this one from eBay ...

In which areas did you make changes?: headlite bucket, right handlebar switches, left handlebar switches, ... ?

One problem I see is that those two wires should be one red and one orange. Looks like you've got black and white. Better trace them back and see if they go to red and orange.

the only changes was risers and struts. i had the rear fender off / disconnecting rear turn signals and rear light. i`m all but 100% positive the wiring is the way it was when it worked. i did take off the speedometer and disconnected the 2 wires that came from it. 1 ground and 1 power.

So what about a rear brake light switch? Did you put one on or are those two wires still disconnected?
