Default Should there be no air in forks?

So I just installed a set of progressive springs in my Iron, huge difference, I no longer hear a clunk when I hit a bump and the bike feels like its actually absorbing the bumps.

Anyways, I was just thinking that when I put the fork caps on, I had the front end raised up, and was wondering if the fork tubes need to be bled somehow, or if air in there is ok? If they need to be bled, how would I go about doing it?

Thanks in advance,

You could do them in deep space in a vacuum, but why?

You need to have air in your forks. Without the air, your forks would not compress. When you installed your springs you need to maintain a certain oil level measurement.

Impossible, physics dictate it with the general gas law.

I guess if they were met to be bled they would have a bleeder screw at the top, much like brake lines do.

Hey you can ask stupid questions, or make stupid mistakes! I'd rather ask, its cheaper. lol

Cavitation would still happen due to friction and enough heat.

Grimm: Shared insight is what this forum is all about.

IREEMAN & ASOT's bantering always brings a bit of light to any thread. Glad to see you back Shelle.

Would that be inside or outside of casinni's division?

I found it to be quite nice, but not enough to try out my new camera on them
