What jetting is he running? My CV had a mid throttle fart with 1 washer under the stock needle, a 185 jet and was turned out 2.5 turns on the IMS. When the Dynotuned mine he put in a Dynojet needle with the clip on the 3rd slot, put in a 180 jet and turned it out 3.5 turns.
Even with the timing as screwed up as he had it, the carb farts were totally gone even when cold and the throttle response across the RPM band was much smoother and felt more aggressive.
Just a thought.......

I think another half to a full turn out on the mix will cure those farts. Maps are in your email sir.

After a ton of tweaking and riding, I believe I now have the perfect 1250 map. If anybody wants it, just let me know.

Me! Pick me! hehe I'd like to take a look at it. Thats all I can really do with it right now anyway. My bike is a few weeks out from being back together. Thanks Rick.

I already sent it to you.
I also sent it to Rejean, Lenster, and Derek. If anyone else with a big bore and a TC 88A wants it, let me know. I think you're going to like this one guys.

I put about 100 miles on the revised version of the Jester III Rico sent me a few days ago and am happy to report that it sets a new standard for Sportster refinement. I had recently been experimenting with bumping the timing up on the original Jester III. I ran it with the initial timing set at 7 for a while. I thought maybe there was slight increase in power, but finally decided that the motor was just twitchier and ran less smoothly. It was something I felt more than heard, but I was concerned about detonation, so I backed it down to 6 and the motor was clearly more happy. We've had relatively high humidity for weeks and I don't remember the last time the dewpoint was below 70 degrees. Maybe winter will be a better time to advance the timing. I was all set to put it back in the neutral 5 position for comparison when Rico sent me the revised version and it is very smooth with plenty of power. It's great to be able to twist the throttle two-up while changing lanes in traffic and feel the bike leap forward like a thoroughbred chomping at the bit. Folks, I think we have a winner!
