Default Super E jetting.

I've got a 1978 Ironhead sportster with a super E carb and it runs well except for the occasional misfire;either when its running at a constant rate or accelerating. It has 66 main and 28 intermediate. It does seem to run better when the enrichment lever is lifted slightly. The engine has been twin plugged and has an electronic ignition system. The exhausts are straight pipes with 4" baffles.

sounds lean to me. many of us here, me included, run 295/68 for jets in the E. makes mine a tad rich, but runs really well.

no worries, running better when you raise the enrichment lever is the big clue - too much air, not enough fuel.

My 77' Xlch with a Super E and 28 intermediate jet was occasionally popping in the carb will cruising below 3000 rpm, so I went to a 295 and that cured the problem.

How's starting your bike with the Super E and that setting? Is it easier to kick start?
