I think you used to be able to go to the Buell website and enter the VIN to get any info about recalls, but if you're trying to see if it's stolen then you need to go to the police or the DMV I suspect, but then I've never done this.

I put my VIN into carfax and they couldn't figure out it was a motorcycle.

I tried at autocheck and they knew the make and model, never paid for any
real info though I was just playing around.

Interesting. Autocheck couldn't find the VIN og a Buell I am looking to buy and Carfax did. As you I didn't go as far as paying - yet.

anyone know anyplace that can check the VIN of a 70 frame. Not 17 numbers. Is DMV my only hope?
