have my trans out. was checking over for anything that looked out of place. Than noticed this





The part that the shift shaft sits in has these real deep grooves in it. Is this normal? It seemed that the shifter had a lot of extra play in it. Could this be a problem?

It's hosed. Needs replacing, along I am sure with the piece that engages with it.
