Default my electrons are running away

hello i'm new here just aquired a 79 xlh on trade (super cheap I might add) but she has issues the first i need to resolve is the wiring i have power to the headlight but thats it. I have a schematic and manual on the way but was wondering if there might be something obvious to look at?

I think i will start a new thread to tackle all the issues on this girl but wanted to say hi first

thanks for the reply the more i dig into this thing the more i find the previous owner wasnt fit to care for a matchbox car much less a fine piece of machinery. The lengths people will do to rig something up to save a buck never ceases to amaze me
