Uhhh... Didn't mention any mods? How about a CV44 for atarters? Then what mods does he have to be able to suck that much air into the engine?
Yes, I would put a pingle on it regardless if that is the current problem or not. Fuel delivery is a problem with lots of vehicles that people modify to race with. We used to find guys at the circle track with cars still running the entire stock fuel line from the fuel cell forward, and they wondered why they couldn't tune the carburetor?
Fuel delivery is one of the first things that should be considered always.
Oh, I disagree with Pingle being overpriced. In my opinion, quality comes first, and in that respect they are priceless.

Thanks for all the input. And, yes, the bike perks right up when I let off the throttle and in all other situations.
I guess I'll go with the pingel, but first I'm going to try to pinch the vacuum line at idle so as to keep the valve open and hit the highway and see if that works.
I'll let you know, provided - of course - that I don't get arrested during 'testing'.
Cheers.

You pinch that line at idle and as soon as it bleeds off you are out of fuel
Actually at 125 in 5 th the vacuum should be coming back I think !

2 days... I sure hope it's just a bail bond that he needs. Lets face it, pushing these things over 100 is always a bit on the shaky side unless you have cartridge forks and some good shocks in the back too, and another degree on the front end wouldn't hurt either.
By the way, Works has cartridges for these forks right now for $399.00 which is cheaper than Works springs with Intiminators and logically much better. Plus I have it from a direct source that Progressive will have cartridges for the sporty within a couple of months. (Just some interesting info that I thought everyone would like to know).

The Fix
It was a venting issue. I removed the one-way valve that clips to the left side, under the battery cover. That cured it.
I can't recall now as to whether I bought a new valve - it's winter here - but I believe I did.
I've never found the need for a Pingel myself. Plus, even though I routinely shut off my stock fuel valve, sometimes I forget. I'd always worry, with a Pingel, that if some grit or something prevented the float-bowl from returning to the proper position and I forgot to turn it to 'off', I could end up with the cylinders getting a wash down with fuel.
